The U 24, Buckeyes 6. Air Raid We Are Not

So you can probably guess why Tress did what he did.  He was looking at this team, this game, this result.  If he had told the NCAA about the players, and they were to be suspended, this is what it would have looked like.

If you're reading this, you probably watched the game, scared a few women, made a couple babies cry (I made my own child whimper into the night) and consumed a beverage to pass completion ratio of about 5 to 1, which would made you drink, oh let's do the math.  6 passes completed times 5, is 30 beverages.  2 of those passes I missed because they came after we turned it to OU-FSU, you know, the real prime-time game.

Anyway, we found a running back (who set in motion the birth of my daughter last year) and a defense who would not give up, even if the coach tried his damnedest to.

Hall ran for 87 yards on 14 carries.  Picture from the AP

We also found that missing your Heisman-caliber freakish senior quarterback, senior all-B1G running back and a Day One/Two NFL pick at wideout, along with an NFL ready lineman will bite you in the ass, even if the quarterback you are playing tries his damnedest to throw the ball to you.  At some point, I'm sure it crossed the mind of the coaching staff to have CJ Barnett line up at wideout because he would be able to secure a reception when thrown his way.

You can find the recap of the game from better sources herehere, here, here, here, and here.

Next up for the unranked Buckeyes (first time unranked since I was a Junior at The Ohio State Univeristy), the Colorado Buffaloes from the Pac-12 (soon to be Pac-4,586) come into the 'Shoe.  3:30, streamed live on ESPN3 dot com probably and should be (I keed I keed).

Dust yourselves off and let the tailgating with a game thrown in there begin Saturday morning.  There was a real posibility of a long season, and Miami put it in drive.  We only get 8 a year.  Enjoy your friends on the banks of the Olentangy, responsibly or course.  Oh, and don't call in to The Comman Man and Torg and suggest that Fickle should start Guiton.

How can you justify keeping a QB in who was 2/15? A QB who overthrew balls, threw balls behind receivers. B. Miller may have thrown an INT and fumbled but he is a true freshman that is going to make mistakes. You cannot put him in for one play then take him out because he makes a mistake. That will kill him. Buckeye fans could not have been expecting much to begin with this season, especially not after saturday. As far as the rest of the year is concerned you have 2 options. Keep Bauserman as your QB and lose all big games this season or play Miller, let him gain XP and accept that he will make mistakes. At least then your setting him up for next year, and who knows maybe he can salvage out this year. I may be a 20 year old college student who doesn't know anything but I think I see the logical choice. #BuckeyeRant
